- CHADDS FORD HISTORICAL SOCIETY - CHADDS FORD DAYS
- Colonial fair originally established to commemorate the anniversary of the Revolutionary War Battle of Brandywine, September 11, 1777.
- When: Saturday & Sunday, September 7 and 8, 2002-- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Admission $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $1 for children 7 to 12, free for children 6 and under.
- Where: In the meadow opposite the John Chads House, Chadds Ford, PA, Route 100, 1/4 mile north of U.S. Route 1.
- 17th Annual Mushroom Festival
- A fun packed, two-day event in historic Kennett Square, Pennsylvania - the heart of mushroom country.
- The Festival, which lasts from 11am until 6 pm both days, celebrates the mushroom as well as promotes the beauty, history and excitement of Southern Chester County. The scheduled events integrate these things throughout the two days.

- 30 Star Chefs from Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs.
- What: The Sixth Annual Star Chefs of Philadelphia. A gourmet Sampling and Chef's Live Auction.
- When: September 9, 2002 at 5:30 PM
- Where: Wyndham Philadelphia, at Franklin Plaza, 17th & Race Streets, Philadelphia
- Why: The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Funds raised at the Star Chefs of Philadelphia event support the mission of the March of Dimes.
- Individual Tickets: $100.00, Patron Tables: $1,000.00
- Each chef will prepare one or more of his or her favorite signature dishes to be sampled by guests. In addition to sampling the culinary creations of these fabulous chefs, guests will sample fine wines and microbrews, participate in a silent auction, and will be provided opportunities to bid on each chef’s creative culinary packages during a live auction.

- September’s harvest was a time of celebration and the annual market fair was a place where folks came by foot, horse, ox-drawn carriage to buy, sell, trade, seek employment and eat, drink and be merry.
- When: Sept 14-15, 12:00 - 5:00 PM
- Admission for the event is $6.00 for adults; $5.00 for seniors; $4.00 for children; and $20 per family (living in the same household). Parking is free.

- Pennsbury Manor - Open Hearth Cooking: The Bake Oven
- The firing of the bake oven was an entire day’s work. The Pennsbury Manor volunteer cooks will demonstrate the baking of breads, coffins, great cakes, pyes, tarts, and the use of the slack oven for drying as the heat retained in the oven drops.
